I have to remember I’m a writer. I was trained to do it, and writing brought me pride. Today things are so different. To be very clear, I have no regrets! I love my life and the path I have chosen. But now and then I get the need of writing something and I struggle, as I do here writing about myself, as a photographer.

When I was still a journalism student, a professor gave me the most wonderful advise, she told me to fall in love with my subjects when interviewing them. I make use of her wise words to this day and, as being compassionate comes naturally to me, I think this helps to make my clients to feel at ease. I understand how vulnerable people find themselves in front of cameras, the discomfort is almost palpable. It is harder for people to pose than answer questions, that for sure. I pose people in a way that will look natural and flattering in the pictures. Im also very OCD on editing, specially for my seniors, single portraits and weddings I take my time to do retouches. My editing is flawless and I can go as far as my clients want to.

senior portraits

I photograph teenagers on their senior year, and mostly of my clients are boys. They are breathtaking . Not because they are young and good looking, but because they are on the cusp of starting their adult life. They bring such freshness and hope to the game. I have an adult son that was a senior once. Seeing him become a man who makes this earth a better place means the world to me. I look at my seniors and I see somebody that has the power to make a difference. I look at their moms and I’m so completely happy to freeze that moment when their bodies are strong and ready, and their possibilities endless. It is a bittersweet time for the parents, which compels me to create stunning portraits for them to cherish. Having a kid was my wildest adventure. Letting him fly was hard and beautiful.

beauty & women

Photographing women is one of my favorite things to do. I just love to look at their faces, their expressions, I relate and feel connected to the feminine energy of my clients. I believe women’s bodies are glorious and everything about the way you look is perfect right now. That said, I understand that being in front of the camera can be intimidating. To be seen is to be vulnerable and I get that. Even the most confident among us may struggle with their images, many times what we see on the mirror doesn’t reflect on our photos, trust me, I know.

I encourage my clients to have their hair and make up done and to bring as many outfits as they wish. My sessions are light and as I look at my clients I find flattering angles and guide them with my posing suggestions.

I do appreciate feedback from the women I photograph and I often hear that my photoshoots feel like hanging out with a friend. I think that is a really good way to describe my sessions. My goal is to listen to you and work together as a team to deliver pictures of you that you will actually love.

It doesn’t matter what do you want to celebrate, a milestone, your birthday, a new job, motherhood , your body, yourself! I can make it happen!

family portraits

I photograph families and I can’t say enough how important it is to have your family captured. Photographs are the best investment you will ever make. Yes, good photographers are not cheap, I can guarantee you that. But whatever you payed for your photos, they will be literally priceless in the future. I regret not having professional family pictures done every year , I really do. Luckily I photographed my son, my husband and my animals all the time, but I’m never in the picture, and that was my mistake. Do not be like me. That is why family pictures are my least expensive product. You have to do it, you will be glad you did. I’m not talking about just having a pretty Christmas card to send to your neighbors. Your family is a treasure and perfect as it is right now. I feel it is my duty to tell that to my clients. I photograph families the way they want. Formally or relaxed , it really doesn’t matter, I just want you to have those images.

small weddings

I used to photograph many weddings. Now I specialize in small weddings and elopements. After all the years, the butterflies are still there when I see a bride walking the aisle. The emotion of looking at the printed material reminds me that as a child my parent’s wedding album was one my favorite things to look at. I have it memorized, I remember the order of their pictures. I think my love for weddings started that early. When I photograph a wedding I want their future children to look at their pictures and feel as I felt looking at my parent’s wedding pictures. I photograph, in a sense, for people that are not here yet. So my wedding pictures come from a place of love, as all my pictures.
